USARSim Schedule

24 Feb – Ability to open and see the GUI. Start receiving images on robot so they can be manipulated and sent.

9 March – Comms up and running so we should be able to start implementing different communications back and forth like drive commands. Arrange windows in GUI so layout looks like final setup.

23 March – AI victim detection & reporting via comms (AI should send “Vict Found” message to GUI and kill automation). Robot receiving images from server, start work on sending images via comms. Comms able to send sensor info, images, and turn on/off automation.

30 Mar – Finalize robots and sensor layouts for them. Have method for registering laser points for mapping.

30 Mar – Automation avoids walls, steep hills & holes, stays within comms range with inter-robot comms relay and sends sensor updates with map data. Images & mapping will be working

Apr to 15 May – Improving layout, performance, and get a good operator trained. Good time to play around with working system for research. There’s a submarine, a weird looking humanoid robot with wheels, new mapping systems, etc.

24-27 May – US Open in Pennsylvania

27 May to 14 July – Make improvements based off our showing in US Open
